Opening its doors in 1987, SXSW Center hosts festivals and conferences celebrating film, music, culture, technology, and education. With a reputation for bringing different people together to discuss varied topics, SXSW is a nexus for creativity and culture. ACL Live is a state-of-the-art music venue with a capacity of 2,750 people. It hosts about 100 music shows annually, featuring many performers, musicians, and more.

 

The Pecan Street Festival is one of the country's longest-running and biggest music and arts and crafts festivals. The two-day celebration occurs twice a year, in May and September. Hundreds of national and local artists flock to the event to display and sell art in various styles, including glass, stone, metal, and more.

 

Locals love Zilker Metropolitan Park, an urban park covering 351 acres. The park, which recently passed its centennial anniversary, hosts many of Austin’s best-attended events. You can find a botanical garden, a sculpture garden, Barton Springs Pool, a clubhouse, a theater, and more.

 

Lady Bird Lake is an ideal reservoir to row, kayak, paddleboard, and canoe. With a serene atmosphere and beautiful surroundings, it also provides guests with a well-maintained trail that is great for jogging, walking, biking, and viewing nature. Lake Austin is known for boating and fishing. Visitors can rent boats there or try catching some largemouth bass.
