Things to Do

Hamilton Pool Preserve is a natural swimming pool resting in a canyon where a 50-foot waterfall spills. A quarter-mile trail leads from the parking lot to the pool. Guided hikes take guests from the uplands to the canyon, teaching about the history of the pool and the surrounding wildlife. 

 

Pedernales Falls State Park covers 5,200 acres and is an excellent place for camping, swimming in the river, hiking, and horseback riding. From beautiful scenery to local plants and animals, the park jibes with the relaxing vibe of Dripping Springs.

 

Opened in 1976 and covering 76 acres, the Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center has a wet grotto, a canyon waterfall, trails, and wildlife. Its mission is to protect and enjoy nature while inspiring others to do the same. Providing collaborative alliances, educational programs, and conservation work, the center teaches scientific concepts to 6,000 students each year.

 

Dripping Springs Fair and Rodeo is a yearly event with many vendors, live music, horseback riding, goat roping, and barrel racing shows that delight and excite the audience. The Wine and Food Festival features dozens of exhibits of restaurants, distilleries, wineries, and breweries; guests enjoy tastings, mixology classes, culinary demonstrations by chefs, and live music.

 

The largest community event in Dripping Springs is the annual Founder’s Day Festival. The three-day celebration gathers thousands of guests in the historic downtown to witness the grand parade, entertainment, and free music. More than 150 vendors and arts and crafts booths set up shop here, and there are street dances, cook-offs, drinks, and foods.
