Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

One of the oldest clubs in the state, having opened its doors in 1899, Austin Country Club is a family-centered, private club. The club is known for its golf course, and its 180 acres skirt the Colorado River. Barton Creek Country Club features an elite fitness center, four award-winning golf courses, tennis courts, and community events. Both clubs are excellent places to engage with the community and make friends.

Blue Dahlia Bistro has a cheerful atmosphere with European decor and French-inspired fare. Serving organic, locally-grown ingredients, the food is always fresh. The veteran hardware store Breed & Company sells gifts, home accessories, and garden items. The store’s ambiance is enhanced by beautiful art and delightful scents; its staff will ensure you leave with the right items.

Things to Do

Rollingwood Park is divided into two sides: an upper part and a lower part. In the upper half, also called Hatley Park, there are several ball fields, five athletic fields for youth activities, adult exercise equipment, the Doyle Moore Field House, and a playground. The lower half has a pavilion, a garden, two playground areas, and swings.

With a quarter-mile-long greenbelt and several recreational spaces, Lost Creek Neighborhood Park is a great place to relax and play. The gazebos can be rented for events, and trails are available for walking. Red Bud Isle is 13 acres of off-leash dog park on an island in the lake. The isle is lots of fun for the dogs, and you can also kayak or canoe. The main trail is a half-mile.

Barton Creek Wilderness Park allows visitors to explore beautiful views and waterfalls, swim, bike, hike, and climb. The expansive nature preserve boasts miles of trails through heavily wooded areas, making it an ideal place for bikers, runners, and hikers.
