Established in 1990, Hamilton Greenbelt features several miles of trails, making it ideal for biking, walking, or jogging (a couple of creeks contribute to the ambiance). Lakeway’s Lights On event takes place at the beginning of each Christmas season. Residents compete in reindeer games, roast marshmallows, and decorate cookies while a live band sings Christmas carols. And once Santa and Mrs. Claus light up the Trail of Lights, it is open every night until New Year’s Day. The trail sparkles with thousands of lights, allowing guests to spend hours exploring the light tunnel, animals, figurines, and other light displays.
Another Lakeway Christmas tradition is the Lake Travis Christmas Boat Parade. The massive event comprises houseboats, pontoons, runabouts, sailboats, and cruisers; it also gathers toys
for underprivileged children around the US.
